Phoenix Objectivists will be hosting a viewing of the classic 1949 film "The Fountainhead"! Architect Howard Roark is expelled from college because his designs fail to fit with existing architectural thinking. Because Roark refuses to compromise his principles, he seems unemployable but Roark finally lands a job with like-minded Henry Cameron. Within a few years Cameron drinks himself to death, warning Roark that the same fate awaits unless he compromises his ideals. Roark is determined to retain his artistic integrity and individuality at all costs. The script for this film was authored by Ayn Rand herself and it stars Gary Cooper and Patricia Neal. The running time for the film is 1 hour and 52 minutes and it is in black and white. After the conclusion of the movie, a discussion will be held of the philisophical points brought up in it.
