The Aphasia Center at Boston University's Sargent College will present a live music performance and the 'Stroke of Genius' documentary The film, directed by Bahman Soltani, is an inspiring look at how Dan Mountain, a very successful advertising writer from Venice Beach, California, turned his massive stroke into blessings for his community, his family and himself. Thinking he had "zero chance of recovery", his doctors pulled life support on the 21st day. Miraculously, that's when Dan woke up! He wrote poetry about his experience which his friend, singer songwriter, Marc Black, put to music and recorded with help from Art Garfunkel, John Sebastian, The Dixie Hummingbirds, and Steve Gadd, among others. The CD is also entitled, 'Stroke of Genius'. Marc will perform songs off the CD, live, before introducing the New England premiere of the 'Stroke of Genius' documentary. Following the film, Marc Black will have a question & answer session with the audience. This work is an inspiration to those whose lives have been affected by disability in any forms. It illuminates the power of language to heal, the heart, the mind and the body. 'Stroke of Genius' is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the power of love. Tickets are $25 to support the Aphasia Center at B.U. Sargent College. For more information: www.marcblack.com, marcblackmarc@aol.com Advanced tickets: http://www.brattlefilm.org
