Each year Good Sports and its partners host an event to generate support for youth sports, fitness, and recreation. It is more important than ever that young people are healthy and active, and with sports declining at record rates, now is the time to act. This event will enable Good Sports to provide sports equipment to disadvantaged youth getting them involved in physical activity. The Good Sports 4th Annual Legends of the Ball will be held on May 31st at The Roxy in Boston’s Theatre District. The event will bring together the corporate and sports world in a fun, celebratory setting to show support for youth sports. Lenny Clarke and Glenn Ordway will emcee the event, with musical entertainment Darryl “DMC” McDaniels and Boys Gone Wild (including members of Vertical Horizon and Stroke 9). Single tickets are $150 and a group purchase of 8 VIP is $1,000. Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.goodsports.org Be part of one of the best celebrations of the year and help our kids get in the game!

Melding the hip-hop tradition of raw, gritty samples with a more classical approach to song structure, RJD2 has concocted a style of production that pleases the most discerning hip-hop scholar without compromising that old dance floor aesthetic.

"The Healing Gardens of New York by Alexandra Isles (2005, 54 min.). The Healing Gardens of New York is the story of lives and communities that have been transformed by gardens created in the response to crime, neglect, poverty, and recidivism. The film features gardens ranging from a small asphalt triangle in Times Square to a spacious field on Rikers Island (the city's largest prison). In a city dominated by steel, glass, jackhammers, and cranes, the importance of green space as a source of stability and emotional wellbeing is too often overlooked. As it moves around New York City, each segment delves deeper into the effect of gardens on neighborhoods and individuals. Discussion with Alexandra Isles follows screening."
