Laura Schandelmeier and Stephen Clapp are committed to creating works that reflect their individual and combined experience of contemporary dance, theater and culture. Clapp’s commitment to the intersection of art and social justice with Schandelmeier’s edgy exploration of dance as an art form have combined to forge a unique blend of artistry, cultural synthesis and contemporary commentary. Their new work Haunted explores local lore and ghost stories from the diverse community in which they live and work - Mount Rainer, Maryland, where some say the story behind The Exorcist took place. Performed to an original score by Clapp, Haunted will incorporate guest performers, community members and video footage from the weekly community workshops leading up to the premiere. TICKETS: $22 general admission; $17 members, students, teachers (PreK-12), professional artists & seniors; $8 for children 17 & under – unless noted otherwise.

Indie-rock guitarist Brandon Butler brings his whiskey-soaked voice and blend of roots-rock and country blues to the stage. Laura Burhenn is an up-and-coming singer/songwriter in Washington D.C. whose skills at the piano and vocal style have earned her comparisons that range from Tori Amos to Billie Holiday to Joni Mitchell and even to DC's own Eva Cassidy. A four-time Wammie nominee, Laura has toured the east and west coasts and her songs have been played on numerous radio stations, including XM Radio's Unsigned Channel.
