Laura Schandelmeier and Stephen Clapp are committed to creating works that reflect their individual and combined experience of contemporary dance, theater and culture. Clapp’s commitment to the intersection of art and social justice with Schandelmeier’s edgy exploration of dance as an art form have combined to forge a unique blend of artistry, cultural synthesis and contemporary commentary. Their new work Haunted explores local lore and ghost stories from the diverse community in which they live and work - Mount Rainer, Maryland, where some say the story behind The Exorcist took place. Performed to an original score by Clapp, Haunted will incorporate guest performers, community members and video footage from the weekly community workshops leading up to the premiere. TICKETS: $22 general admission; $17 members, students, teachers (PreK-12), professional artists & seniors; $8 for children 17 & under – unless noted otherwise.
