Web Inno is continuing to emerge as a key event in Boston for web and mobile innovators to connect with other entrepreneurs, visionaries, and creative thinkers in the space. I am excited to announce that the next one will be held next month: Boston Web Innovators Group July 9th at 6:30pm Royal Sonesta Hotel Cambridge Following our usual format, we are going to have a few self-funded start-ups and individual innovators briefly demo their product/service in two different forums. First, there will be a couple center-stage presenters giving five minute demos for the entire crowd (aka “main dishes”) at 7pm. In addition, there will be a number of tables set up at the periphery of the room for live informal demonstrations to smaller groups during the schmoozing sessions (aka “side dishes”). Each will help provide the community a glimpse of current local endeavors in the space and offer the basis for further conversation. As a reminder, the event is always free of charge and open to all who are interested in web and mobile innovation. If you plan to attend, I would appreciate it if you would RSVP on our event wiki page. Looking forward to seeing you in a few weeks.

Brooklyn-based doom quintet Bloody Panda is a strange animal. A hybrid of experimental atmospherics and cold, evil metal, they're equally at home opening for Soilent Green and playing with local avant-folk acts. Bloody Panda has been turning heads since 2003 with its live show - an intense, theatrical experience in which band members perform in executioner's hoods. However, the nucleus of this dirge is vocalist Yoshiko Ohara, whose deep and sorrowful chants belie her diminutive stature.
