Goatwhore is an American blackened death metal band. It was formed in 1997 in Thibodaux, Louisiana. The music of Arsis is the product of strong classic metal and rock influences such as Racer X, Iron Maiden, Dio, Black Sabbath, and Alice Cooper, combined with the aggressive, in-your-face influences of bands such as Morbid Angel and Death. Strong Intention is a hardcore band which was formed in 1993. The band went into a hiatus in 1995 and then re-formed the following year around a new core lineup with the new members bringing in new, diverse range of ideas and influences to the band.
