Tingel Tangel Club Friday, January 26. 10p - 4a Glasslands 289 Kent Street (btwn S. 1st and S. 2nd) Williamsburg (BKLYN) Admission is $12 / $8 dressed in theme The darkly political cabaret "Weimar New York" is making its way to San Francisco for a Valentine themed showcase at the Museum of Modern Art, but before slipping away the cast are offering up a lover's kiss to NYC in the form of TINGEL TANGEL CLUB. "Weimar New York" producer Earl Dax hosts the evening in an informal, salon-like manner and DJ Mondolucien demonstrates a sophisticated mastery of the ones and the twos as he both responds to the crowd and guides them through the evening with an eclectic mix of international pop, lounge, and delightfully obscure dance music. It's a rollicking night of dancing and debauchery that recalls the dance halls of Weimar-era Berlin mixed with the raw energy of a New York warehouse party! The cast includes the sensational Ana Matronic of the Scissor Sisters performing a 60's ditty called "He Likes to Nibble on My Cupcakes;" "Weimar New York" regulars Tangerine Jones and Todd Almond debuting a new collaboration; cabaret star Louisa Bradshaw (Bar Jeder Vernunft, Berlin); and upcoming starlet James Jameson. Australian chanteuse Kim Smith will be bringing his Antipodean charms to the stage, and Coney Island pin-up Carol Lipnick of Spookorama will be bringing her evocative sideshow rhythms and incomparable vocals to to the party. The mischievous Pixie Harlots will keep the crowd on their toes with their hopped-up ensemble pieces and outre look, and English Kills provides live visuals.
