They will discuss the successes and pitfalls of producing the book, including locating original Emerson family manuscripts at a descendant’s house on Long Island, and deciding what form—documentary edition or biography—the book should take. Ronald A. Bosco is Distinguished Professor of English and American Literature at the University at Albany, SUNY, President of the Association for Documentary Editing, and General Editor for The Collected Works of Ralph Waldo Emerson. Bebel Gilberto, daughter of bossa nova legend Joao Gilberto, has been performing since childhood and has worked with such cutting-edge talents as Towa Tei (of Dee Lite fame), Smoke City, Amon Tobin and the Thievery Corporation. Her latest release is 'Momento.' Forro in the Dark brings an updated style of traditional Brazilian forro dance music to the hipsters and club-goers. Supplementing the traditional instrumentation of accordion, zabumba and metal triangle with electric guitars, an array of flutes, modern percussion and other contemporary instruments, Forro in the Dark captures the core of forro for modern audiences.
