Taken By Trees (featuring Victoria Bergsman of the Concretes) 7:30 pm Saturday, February 23, 2008 Remis Auditorium Victoria Bergsman, formerly of The Concretes and "Young Folks" fame, brings her new project, Taken By Trees, to the MFA for its Boston debut. Their music is filled with stark pop melodies, beguiling vocals, folk touches, and vivid images drawn from nature. “The whole record sounds completely natural and mixes traditional folk with eccentric pop melodies with style and ease. In most places the instruments that feature are so stripped down that they’re practically non-existent, allowing her trademark ethereal vocals to shine through.” - NME http://www.takenbytrees.com/

In 'The Drowsy Chaperone', a modern day musical theatre addict known simply as Man in Chair drops the needle on his favorite LP: the 1928 musical comedy 'The Drowsy Chaperone'. From the crackle of his hi-fi, the musical comes to life on stage, telling the tale of a pampered Broadway starlet who wants to give up show business to get married, her producer who sets out to sabotage the nuptials, her chaperone, the debonair groom, the dizzy chorine, the Latin lover and a pair of gangsters who double as pastry chefs.
